Leak Detection

Detecting the source of a leak in a swimming pool is a process of elimination. Before starting the process, it is important to ensure that there is in fact a leak in the pool. Many times water loss appears to be caused by a leak but is actually the result of evaporation. Determining whether or not a pool is leaking can be confirmed with the "bucket test".

After it has been confirmed that there is a leak in the pool, the next step is to find the leak. To do this, areas where leaks are commonly found are checked first. This begins the process of elimination. One by one, areas of the pool are eliminated or confirmed as a source of the leak using dye testing, pressure testing, and sonic amplification.
